Light installation covers more than swapping a globe. It stretches from a single pendant to a full downlight retrofit, and the scope changes what's involved.

We work room by room or as a whole-house upgrade, whichever suits the budget and the timeline.

Frenchs Forest is still mostly separate houses, over nine in ten homes at the last census, spread through low-density streets like Currie Road. Most of it dates from the postwar decades when the Forest District took shape, wired with basic batten-holder lighting and not much else.

Newer stock is different. Townhouses and apartments have gone in around the Northern Beaches Hospital town centre precinct since the late 2010s, often strata-titled and built with downlights already roughed in.

On the older houses, light installation usually means opening up a ceiling that was never designed for it. On the newer townhouses, it's more about matching an existing layout and checking what strata approval is needed first.

Either way, the fittings and the ceiling itself change what the job actually involves, more than the size of the room does.

1. Quote and gear selection. We confirm the fittings, dimmers or smart switching you want, and give you a fixed price in writing.

2. Ceiling access checked. We check the roof space and cut in a manhole if the house doesn't already have one.

3. Fittings installed and wired. Old fittings come out, new ones go in, and every circuit is tested as we go.

4. Signed off and cleaned up. The job is tested, the ceiling is patched neatly, and we leave the space as we found it.
